Hello everyone!
Hope you are all well
I do realise it has been WAY too long in between entries. I've been working for two months now, and it has been very enjoyable overall. I've also just had my two weeks of annual leave, which has been very relaxing. It was great to be able to catch up with some of you at least. I also took the opportunity and went dowm to Frankston, and saw the massive resident seal there with Wendy-- a big scary thing up close-- really! The photo made it look wayy too cute!
Also managed to have my wisdom teeth out during my leave. (all four at once! went under GA the first time ever!) It has been about 5 days since the operation. In that time I've made good friends with all things liquid and squigy. Frankly, I'm over soups and congees... I really want to eat crunchy chewable things instead of drinking through a straw!! Thankfully I've almost recovered completely though. Hopefully it won't be long till I can eat properly again.
Went to the Commonwealth games as a volunteer. Was very much baffled by what was printed on the back of our accreditation passes. Just shows that it pays to read small print huh?

I wonder how many lawyers it took to come up with the above? No one told us that when we signed up for volunteering
Here is the seal in Frankston...

And the boathouses...

I digged this up by accident today. Have fun trying! (Consider carefully, you nolonger want to work in the health industry, right?)
1. Ignore the first five people who say "good morning" to you. 2. To signal the end of a conversation, clamp your hands over your ears and grimace. 3. When someone hands you an instrument or piece of paper, finger it, and wisper huskily, "Mmmmmmm, that feels soooooooo good!" 4. Leave your zipper open for one hour. If anyone points it out, say, "Sorry, I really prefer it this way" 5. While riding an elevator, gasp dramatically everytime the doors open. 6. Babble incoherently at a fellow doctor or patient then ask, "Did you get all that? I don't want to have to repeat it" 7. For an hour, refer to everyone you speak to as "Bob" 8. After every sentence, say "maan" in a really bad Jamaican accent. As in "the report's on your desk, maan". Keep it up for one hour. 9. In a meeting or crowded situation, slap your forehead repeatedly and mutter, "Shut up, damn it, all of you just shut up!" 10. In a colleague's schedule/diary, write in 10am: "See how I look in tights" 11. Repeat the following conversation 10 times to the same person: "Do you hear that?" "What?" "Never mind, it's gone now" 12. Come to work in army fatigues and when asked why, say, "I can't talk about it" 13. Speak with an accent (French, German, Porky pig, etc) during a conversation with a colleague or patient.
Good luck all! I think it will not suffice to just babble incoherently (see point 6 above) though. Heck, I do it all the time!
How many have I completed? None yet, I'm too bewildered/confused/dazed as a fresher to even contemplate any of it! (other than being incoherent, which occurs naturally, esp when talking about/to a patient, of course!)

I came home a few days ago, and, instead of finding just bills in my mail, I found this perched quietly on my doorstep. It was such a lovely surprise, and so well timed too, seeing that it arrived on the first day of my orientation!
Thank you Stephen and Penny for your well wishes on my graduation. I'm REALLY touched by it. Thank you so very much for thinking of me!
